WGTC Cup Racing
In the beginning was the wheel, and then there were 2 wheels, then 4. There has been racing from the day after the 2nd set of wheels was made. Over time many kinds and shapes and sizes of wheels have gone around the track or down the road or over the finish line. Among the most popular have been the series of GT races run between the various makes of sports cars. The quickest and best handling of production cars whether from Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, or the USA inspire competition from the moment they appear on the pavement. In sprint races and long distance events, neither weather nor time of day can prevent the contests. They are raced on all continents, in almost any weather, and nearly the year around.
RJR Designs now bring you the World Grand Touring Challenge mod: GT cars as raced around the globe. WGTC series cars are designed to bring production based international Grand Touring racing to a computer near you. This initial set of cars represents popular makes raced in events throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The best from Porsche, Ferrari, Ford, Corvette, and Daimler-Chrysler are now available. So get your helmet on, snug up the belts another notch and hit the track!
The WGTC mod is designed with close online racing in mind. The cars were made to provide balanced performance among 7 models of GT racers. We hope you will find them rewarding to drive. RJR make no promises regarding authenticity, accuracy or verisimilitude of the Mod cars presented here. They are the best we could assemble and intended for enjoyment, rather than historical fact.
RJR has worked tirelessly throughout the preceding year to produce the WGTC mod. We could not have done so without help from many hands. We have many to thank for the materials, models and paint we have used in this enterprise. While the final product is our own version much of what you see here is adapted from other sources. RJR would like to thank them one and all for their generosity in allowing us to use their works.
RJR Designs is: Goresh: Heat Modeler Extraordinaire
Ricardo Dumfooly: Painter to the Mod Stars and Graphics Genius.
Spin Doctor: Heat Physics Guru and Kibitzer par Excellence.
RJR would also like to thank the following helpful souls:
1. Mika Hirvonen and the members of RSDG for the use of the SCC models used. The mod would not look half so good as it does without the use of cars and other source materials and paints from the SCC mod for F1-C.
